The post-911 reality is that anyone of Muslim decent is subject to scrutiny whether justified or not simply because of their heritage. The details of why the women’s friend, Sahar was stopped at the US border are unclear. What is clear is that for 9 1/2 hours, she was question to the point of feeling traumatized.
