Islamic terrorism, the overly highlighted headline of every newspaper article. It usually corrodes the meaning of Islam and spreads a fear of Muslims in communities, increasing Islamophobia. First and for most, Islam is the religion of peace and Muslim belief is based on tranquillity. Terrorism is not peaceful and framing Islam is just history repeating itself, remember the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), didn’t they misrepresent Christianity? Nevertheless, whether terrorism has a religion or not is definitely not what I am here to write about. Discrimination in any shape or form should not be tolerated, it must be annihilated. Additional hysteria and chaos are caused because of the lies social media is spreading around the world. Abhorrent propaganda against Islam is spreading in front of our eyes and we can physically do nothing at all to stop it. We are being dictated by the internet. Think about it, everything we do on the internet is tracked, whether it is reading a newspaper article or visiting a website; we are slowly being exposed to Islamophobia through advertisements and recommended videos. Islam is being jeopardised to terrorise people, making them become Islamophobic. Sadly, heinous attacks are frequently happening all around the world, children and adults are being brainwashed by rumours of Islamophobia which spread across the internet like a disease. Although Islamophobia cannot be blamed on anyone, preventing it from spreading should be our topmost priority. Don’t forget, Islamophobia does not only associate Muslims it affects everyone.
