One of the points that I found really interesting was the fact that the declaration of independence declares that all men are created equal, however during the time of its writing men of color were still enslaved.Given that Thomas Jefferson initiated the idea of black inferiority, (speculating that they were both physically and mentally different) and the scientific research behind it is disappointing and horrendous. As a leader for the US to come up with such an idea is scary, because it shows how easily one influential figure could cause an on going and growing ripple effect of segregation and discrimination.
The 1904 World’s Fair celebrated the coming of America, but also displayed the people of color as exhibits of the white folks obstacles.
