Despite Amanda Palmer’s distracting appearance and lack of argument the reader is still presented with a compelling speech in the “Art of Asking”. As the viewer it is hard to be drawn away from the extremely intense eyebrows that this woman has sketched on her face, yet as she begins her speech the audience is immediately intrigued with what she has to say. “I was a self-employed living statue called the Eight-Foot Bride,” (0:42) making it nearly impossible for the audience not to wonder what that was to entail. Now that she has the attention of every viewer Palmer explains what she did for a living, and every member of the audience can already find themselves enjoying and agreeing upon what she has to say without even realizing that she hasn’t
