Alice Goffman On The Run Analysis

What I thought about On The Run, by Alice Goffman, was that it was a very informative book because to any individual that did not know how some cities work, most cities are criminalizing individuals due to skin color. Usually cities that are segregated, most likely have most of the city police doing routine check ups in those areas. The example used in the novel, were probation records or just any type of misdemeanor that a black person had obtained. Even if the person had changed and was doing good in society, the police did not care. If the name of the individual was in the police data base, then most likely he would be detained and either arrested or issued a fine. A real life example where this issue can be clearly seen is Escondido. Me
