Alex Rodriguez has always been a baseball icon. He burst onto the scene at a very young age and never looked back gaining fans and stardome everywhere he went. He was a number one draft pick and the ceiling was high, but it all came crashing down. Alex Rodriguez was born in New York on July 27,1975. Baseball has always been a part of Rodriguez’s life with his father Victor Rodriguez being a former pro baseball catcher in the Dominican Republic (Alex Rodriguez). Rodriguez chose to sign with the Mariners instead of playing at MIami, on a 3 year contract worth $1.3 million which at the time was a lot for a first year player (Alex rodriguez).
