How are Agriculture and Thanksgiving related? Agriculture and Thanksgiving are related in more ways than just the turkey on the table or the football teams on the TV. Agriculture is the science or practice of farming. Thanksgiving is known as a yearly holiday held in North America to memorialize a harvest festival celebrated by Pilgrims in the year 1621. The first word that came to my mind when I heard agriculture and Thanksgiving in the same sentence was automatically “food”, and I'm sure many others thought the same thing. When I really sit down and think about it the food is just a small part of the relation of agriculture and Thanksgiving. However, it is an important part. I've never thought too much about where the food on my plate came from, I just felt blessed I had it, it never once crossed my mind that the food had to get to me somehow. But now that I have gotten more into agriculture and learned about the way life it brought, I have much respect for farmers and where my food is from. Every time I sit down to eat a meal I'm reminded that people worked hard to get this food ready from the seed being planted to the hands preparing it in order that we had food in our stomachs.
