The benefit to participating in the Academic Internship Program is the ability to apply my preconceived notions of the legal profession to what an attorney goes through in the day to day nuances of the job. With my current plans to apply to law school the ability to study what does into the practice of law will be a big step into deciding what form of law I would like to focus on and whether or not I can see myself continuing my plan of becoming a prosecutor. It is said that nothing beats hands on experience and I agree because having something explained and actually doing it are completely different things and by experiencing the practice of law I hope to benefit from the ability of seeing as opposed to being told.
