Our inventive ancestors brought many important advances in the areas of agriculture, science and technology during the time period of the cradle of civilization---Ancient Mesopotamia. The innovation which we had researched on is one of the most typical features of Mesopotamia--- ziggurats. Its name was given to the solid stepped towers of mud brick. A ziggurat is consisting of a series of superimposed platforms on top of which was a temple. Built in receding tiers upon a rectangular, oval, or square platform, the ziggurat was a pyramid structure. Sun-baked bricks made up the core of the ziggurat with facing of fired bricks on the outside. Religious ceremonies were held on top of the Ziggurat. Each day, people would leave offerings to the gods
