In the Inkan society, the duties and expectations of a woman were vain and exploited their talents. The prettiest of girls would be chosen for sacrifice, seen as an honor. Older women born of noble families served their duty in producing textiles and other articles like girdles, headbands, string bags for their Inka ruler of the highest quality. The Inkas had a ever increasing demand for cloth, a system where women labored for the state was created. In the acllahuasi, or House of Chosen a class of accla or “chosen” women kept their virginity and others not. Women who were not sacrificed and remained in the acllahuasi, were bound to be chaste for life.These were the Inka's beautiful attendants and concubines, who were drawn from noble families
