Who was Kublai Kahn and what effect did he had on China and Korea? Well for starters Kublai Kahn was the Grandson of Genghis Khan, who conquered China and left it for Kublai. Kublai Kahn became emperor of the Yuan Dynasty in 1279 until 1294. Not only was Kublai Kahn the Emperor of the Yuan Dynasty in China for some time, he was also known as the fifth great Khan of the Mongol Empire. Kublai had a very positive impact on the Yuan Dynasty as their emperor. Some of the things Kublai was able to do while being emperor of the Yuan Dynasty were expand waterways, create paper currency, improve roadways, and he also provided freedom of religion for his people.
