Before success comes failure. Without failure, however, we would not learn from our mistakes in order to succeed. If Erin Gruwell had given up on her ability to teach the students of room 203 after repeated failures, they never would have been able to put their races aside and accept each other or progressed in their learning as much as they were able to. If Eva Benitez had given up on school and her ability to be a good person, she wouldn't have graduated or even finished the ninth grade. This shows that, if people gave up after failing a few times, the world would not be what it is today. Without failure we would not know how to succeed.
Initially, Erin Gruwell. the teacher of Room 203 in The Freedom Writers, struggled in many ways…show more content… I have not experienced what they have been through, but I've received low test grades, I've missed a few baskets and had to sit the bench for a little while, and I've made a few errors during a game and been subbed out. Although those things may not seem like huge failures and mistakes to others, especially compared to what both Eva Benitez and Erin Gruwell had to go through, they are to me; making those mistakes makes me feel like I've failed myself and failed my team. I make mistakes, and I could give up on keeping my grades up and playing sports, but I don't. I study more and practice harder until I have it right; I do what I have to to raise my grade to where it is acceptable to me and keep it there. I practice more and push myself harder until I have accomplished what I previously could not do. Failing is not something I like to experience; even small failures are a big deal to me. As a result of those feelings, I will do whatever I have to to fix the mistakes that I made that caused that failure. I don't run away from my failures; I learn from
