The author purpose in the story “West Coast starfish are dying, but why?” is to inform and to persuade people to pitch in and give money to help research the tragedy of these starfish dying. I do agree with the other point of view. I agree because, if they don’t get money soon the starfish have a chance of getting extinct. The article states that millions of starfish are dying along the West coast. IT says that if you were to walk along the beach you would most likely have seen a dead starfish. This outbreak was noticed in the state by rangers in Olympic National Park. This Virus has effected 20 species of starfish. Representative
