Walt Disney has been noted as one of the greatest people of the 20th century. This man brought happiness and joy to a time period that had no idea that existed (Source 2). He created another world for children all over the earth. Walt gave people hope during the 1930’s. He had huge aspirations for himself and for the world of entertainment. He conquered tasks that many would typically doubt the average man for doing. Walt Elias Disney was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 5th, 1901 (Source 4). He was born to the proud parents, Elias and Flora, Walt spent most of his early childhood life on a farm in Missouri (Source 3). Walt found himself in drawing cartoon and selling them at an early age. He attended McKinley high school in Chicago where he studied photography and art. Soon after he began high school, he began attending night classes at The Academy of Fine Arts (Source 4). Many assume that walt got many of his drawing from his life spent on a farm. His creations gave people a distraction from the outside world. During a time of chaos he provided a sense of enlightenment through his films, drawings, and cartoons. It was the small things that Walt did, from decorating his ambulance car, to creating small cartoons for others that made him so loved. He attempted to improve the quality of urban life in America by creating EPCOT. EPCOT stands for Experimental Prototype Community of Tomorrow (Source 4). This extension of DisneyLand has been very successful still to this day. Due to the fact that he was inspired by animals he grew up with on the farm, he continued his drawings of animals and implemented the importance of conserving their natural habitats.
