Activism is the policy or action of vigorously campaigning to bring about political or social change. Activists clearly try to make a change in this world whether it be not going to school on Columbus Day because it’s a holiday or fighting for rights of homosexuals. Are activist taking movements too far? Is violence the answer into gaining the rights or gaining the respect they want? Who is the victim here-- the activist or the police? The Occupy movement on Wall Street, for example: Americans wanted equality socially and economically. Protesters slept in the public park for weeks upon weeks without bathing. It has been a sustained campaign of police brutality from Wall Street to Washington State-- the likes of which we haven’t seen in 40
