The book Frankenstein written by Mary Shelley was amazing. How did she have a story with inside a story? The story was creative and outside the box. Mary Shelley brings out a character that wants to help and bring back a good brain and create a person, but ends up creating a monster. Discussing what victor has created and how he handles his problems and also trying to achieve his goals. When victor was young he seen things that made him wonder, while seeing things he begin to discern that the ancient philosophers could not provide real knowledge. A young boy, he grows up in Geneva reading the books of the ancient and outdated alchemists, a background that serves him ill when he attends university at Ingolstadt. Usually in literature, the word monster describes those who have wronged another in a certain way, such as: rape, murder, or serial killers,… but in this case, it literally refers to a human, who just doesn’t think or act like a normal human being should or would. However, the fact still being that a “Non-Fiction monster” is evil, and lacks remorse or caring for things that a normal, emotional human being should care for. In the story, Frankenstein, Victor is indeed considered a monster. For the simple fact, he doesn’t look like the rest of us do. His yellow skin barely covered the work of muscles and arteries…his hair was a shiny black…his teeth pearly white, which is good, but not for his complexion. There was absolutely nothing Victor or Frankenstein could’ve done to try and make Frankenstein come off as a better person because the townspeople weren’t going to give him a chance to grow nor prosper in his lifetime. Just the sight of him sent people running, screaming, and hiding for their lives. No one ever thought about giving Frank the time of day because his appearance didn’t give them the right vibes. No one ever thought that although he was created and not born of woman like most, that all he wanted was love and genuine affection. I feel as if someone could’ve shown him the right way to live, or taught him right from wrong so that he wouldn’t terrorize the neighborhoods. Victor Frankenstein in his leaning to satisfy his ambitions and get recognition creates a human being which he becomes afraid
