UWA’s Women and Men’s tennis team bring the community together with free tennis lessons for all ages. Not only are the tennis clinics good for the children, but the parents can participate as well. Also, tennis lessons bring an enjoyable event to the community that’s positive. Jeff Beaman, head coach for UWA’s Women and Men’s tennis teams said “Former players and coaches had a discussion with him about the free clinics that were offered to the community before he arrived, and he wanted to keep the lesson in place. “It’s a way to get the community exposed to tennis.” The main purpose is for participants to learn proper techniques such as serving the ball, forehand and backhands, while interacting with the UWA’S tennis team.
