Emily Callan Due Date: Tuesday 6th Journal 2 I am reading To Kill A Mockingbird by Harper Lee, and I am on page 42. There wasn’t much talk of Boo afterward until about 15 years later. Boo is said to have been cutting up newspaper clippings on the living room floor, and when his father walked by he nonchalantly stabbed him in the leg. Aside from Boo, the Radleys were always a secluded family. On Sundays, the Radleys would not go to church and would keep their shutters closed. Scout and Jem along with the rest of the town’s children are afraid of Boo and the Radley’s house. There are many examples of the kids fear for the Radley house. For instance no one will eat the pecans that fall from the tree in the Radley’s backyard or whenever someone passes by the house they run. Also if ball goes over the fence into the backyard it is never going be regained. Many people are terrified of the Radley house and Boo because of the history behind the two. Because of the events that happened in the past, many stories were formulated about Boo. According to the people of Maycomb, Boo wanders around at night and looks in people’s windows. People say that if he breathes on their azaleas that they will wither and die.
