Research Question: In what ways does the free dengue vaccination in Barangay Munting Pulo help in addressing the number of dengue cases among children aged 1 to 10 and foster maternal care for dengue patients?
Thesis Statement:
Free dengue vaccination program in each barangay is a great aid and help to lessen the number of dengue cases, to spread awareness about the effects of dengue and to teach people the importance of having a clean environment.

Dengue also known as break bone fever is a mosquito to borne tropical disease caused by the dengue virus. It is an infectious disease caused viruses which are transmitted to humans…show more content… The first epidemic of dengue haemorrhagic fever ever recorded in the world occurred in Manila in 1953. By the mid-1970s, dengue fever had become a significant cause of hospitalisation and death among children in the Philippines. According to the World Health Organization, the Philippines experienced the seventh highest number of dengue fever cases in the world between 2004 and 2010. The Philippines Department of Health-Epidemiology Bureau has reported a 41% increase in cases of dengue fever in the country from 01 January 2016 to 11 June 2016 compared with the same period in 2015. Also the Department of Health has recorded a total of 84, 085 suspected dengue cases in the country from January 1 to August 6, 2016. This is 15. 8% higher than in 2015. (Cruz, 2016) In relation with the increasing number of dengue cases in the country, barangays are being urged to support dengue prevention. (Guzman, 2016) Malacanang also vows to improve the services of PhilHealth. (Valte, 2015) Due to the numerous dengue cases reported, our government implemented the free dengue vaccination. The Philippines is one of the first country to implement dengue vaccination through school-based and barangay-based immunization approach.
