To begin with, in the Wife's Lament the wife expresses betrayal and anger by showing it towards her husband. The wife shows anger towards her husband because her husband never paid attention to her. As said in line 18 “ I should find the man well match to me” meaning that she should've found a better person to spend the rest of her life with because now she knows she chose the wrong person because her husband never paid attention to her. Also the wife shows betrayal towards her husband because he kicked her out of her own house. For example in lines 27-28 it says that “ The man sent me out to live in the woods under an oak tree in this den in the earth.” meaning that he never really cared about her because he kicked her out of the house
