In Romeo and Juliet the characters impatience cause many terrible problems, which are usually the opposite of what they intended, throughout the play, especially when someone they love is involved. Paris and Romeo, in completely different situations, both lack the virtue of patience and it ends up causing them what they love the most. Paris shows impatience when Capulet was rushing his daughter to wed and Paris explains to Friar Lawrence that he is “nothing slow to slack his haste”(4. 1. 2-3), even though he knew it was not what Juliet wanted. Paris’s lack of patience when it comes to Juliet causes Juliet to have a dislike towards him for pushing her into a marriage so suddenly. Paris was in such a rush to marry Juliet he didn’t even notice
