Human rights are like the symbol of the equality for every person in the world. Franklin D. Roosevelt, an American statesman and political leader who served as the 32nd President of the United States, categorized 30 articles of human rights into four main Freedoms that are freedom of expression, freedom of worship, freedom from fear, and freedom from want (“Four Freedoms Speech”, 2015 ). In fact, not every country can be the country that gives all freedom to all people in the country because of many significant factors, such as poverty, religion and gender. Kenya is one of the poorest countries in Africa. Kenya is the country in poverty and around 20 million people live under the poverty line or unable to meet their daily nutritional requirements. Certainly, Kenya ranks 145th among 187 countries in the United Nations Development Programme Human Development Index, which measures development in terms of life expectancy, educational attainment and standards of living (“Rural poverty in Kenya”, n.d.). Although, Kenya is the one of the famous safari destinations for tourist in Africa who want to see the beauty and abundant wildlife, and the investment from international corporations, only incomes from these are not enough for every Kenyan. As the same article shown, in the present day, climate change, which is one of the essential factors that make Kenyan economy become worse, does not only destroy the natural resources but it also decreasing agricultural yields. Droughts and floods rate have risen because of global warming effect and have more perniciousness over the last decade. The violent drought that emerged in 2010 and 2011 have negative effects to people in Kenya, people has only a little chance to plant some vegetables and they cannot do livestock farming to consume some meats, there are around 4 million people who need many helps in several ways, such as food and water. Kenya is the country that lack 2 main freedoms which are freedom from want and freedom from fear. Freedom from want that Kenya has faced caused by many factors, it included climate change and war conflict in Kenya. These problems make Kenyan need water and food to consume, keep healthy and survive in everyday. Money is also one of the most important things that Kenyan people want. Kenyan people do not have many opportunities to find some works because of many factors, such as economy and war. Another essential freedom that lack in Kenya is freedom from fear. Kenya has faced many wars in past 20 years that have caused from many predicaments, such as general election conflict or corruption, so people in Kenya still fear because they cannot do many things. They have to face some of corrupted officers that they cannot even trust or ask for help and Kenyan government does not have many strong laws to restrict criminal or corrupted people, thus assaulting and violence in the citizen still have in this country.
