Casablanca “Date Movie” The 1942 movie Casablanca by Michael Curtiz is considered the perfect date movie by many critics. I agree with this statement for the purpose that the film’s romantic story is during a war driven time. The strange occurrence of romance coming out of a war sets Casablanca apart from other romantic motion pictures. Any movie made in the 1940s would be considered and judged as out dated, but the cast of Casablanca fits like a puzzle that it is hard to envision anyone taking the place of the actors in Casablanca. The story, music and powerful lines used in the film are romantic and give the viewer an emotional ride as the story unfolds in Casablanca.
