During the middle of 1970's the 'Non-smokers' rights movement' began and this event helped decrease smokers and helped bring awareness to the health issues that smoking brings. Personally, I believe, that any social engineering that takes place for the cause of changing hazardous habits and behaviors positively impacts us, regardless of the economic consequence that it bares. Nowadays, there are many dramatic, yet very realistic ads in the television and radio about the dangers of texting and driving, not wearing a seat belt, and smoking which I think is quite persuasive for many viewers.
