The movie "Sicario" is about a group of people trying to shut down drugs coming in and out of Mexico. The term sicario is Spanish for hitman. Kate is wounded early in the film after two members of her team are killed while they try to rescue a kidnap victim.
After this rescue mission, her boss recommends that she join a task force that would help with the war on drugs. Kate joins, ready and willing to make a difference, and to find the men who were responsible for the deaths of two of her men and injuring her. The leader, Matt, throws her into the mix to try to take down the jefe, Manuel Diaz and his boss Fausto Alarcon.
As they head to El Paso, she meets Matt's partner Alejandro. Kate also learns that they are actually going to Juarez,
