The purpose of the paper is to examine ten of the most important things that have influenced me in my writing style when answering business email and letters related to work. I will also look at the best practices in business writing and the steps that need to be taken to have successful communication skills. Effective communication should focus on being practical, factual, concise, clear and persuasive. The group is more concerned with preserving harmony than with objectively assessing their circumstances, substitutions and preferences. The group, as a whole, tends to take unreasonable actions or overestimate their positions. Groupthink softens individual thought, and innovation is often a casualty. When this occurs, organizations often fail to see or respond to developing market trends or adopt emerging technologies. A bigger problem of groupthink occurs with companies that are dealing with stressful internal or external conditions or have faced failure in the past, especially as the result of deviating from standard procedure. All of these communicate something without the use of spoken or written words. Even if you do not say a word, your silence can communicate in a non-verbal way. Whether it is called observation or just good judgment, the capability to recognize and to use nonverbal signals to one’s advantage gives the business person the authority and the skill to be more successful. Nonverbal actions is a major element of power insight in a business setting. Within a business, the main purpose of nonverbal communication is to facilitate relationships. Creating understanding is also a valued result of face-to-face communication. Connection is critical in building good business relations with customers and co-workers. It helps to communicate understanding and acceptance of the other person. There are actions that significantly add to establishing a personal relationship. It can be in the form of a genuine smile, a comfortable open posture, a slight lean in the direction of the other person, and continued eye contact. In the first initial connection first impressions can affect both sides of the business deal. A person who exhibitions self-confidence has a great advantage in developing connections and trust with business
