“The Crucible” After signing a paper that states a lie that contrasts who you are a as a person, tearing it up is a fairly good response. Throughout the movie, “The Crucible,” the main protagonist, John Proctor, fights to keep his reputation intact rather than to do the right thing and prosecute against the wrongfully accused in the town of Salem. As the movie progressed, Proctor finally confesses and signs a paper that states he was a witch and confesses all his sins. His breaking point was when he was told by the leaders of Salem that he had to state his sins and confess to the whole town publicly when he had already confessed in private. Proctor then – in that moment – finds that him knowing the truth and confessing to God is enough. He
