They are both about wives who have both internal and external problems. Beina from “The Bridegroom” is a woman who is very different than most. She is short and stocky; it is hard for her to find a man who will love her. But one day she meets this man named Baowen. After they date for a little while, Baowen proposes to Beina and they get married. Eight months into their marriage, Baowen gets arrested for claiming to be caught having sexual relations with another man.
