As time changes, so does our technology. Technology helps improve our everyday lives. Global hunters rely on the improvment of technology to help their research progress better. The three article sources talked about: treasure hunters, hurricane hunters, and ancient civilization hunters. Each of these areas have had massive improvments in technology but, hurricane hunting is most helpful.
Treasure hunters constantly search the ocean floor in hope of new discovery and treasure. A famous treasure hunter named Mel Fisher invented a treasure hunting system known as the mailbox system. The Mailbox sends "powerful jets of water down curved metal tubes which fit in front of the propellers. The clear water flushes away 40 feet wide strips of sand on the murky ocean floor." (Paragraph 6, Source 1). Modern technology, such as the mailbox, has helped hunters find the treasure they have been seeking.…show more content… One of there advancments is using using satellite technology (such as hurricane hunters). Satellite images show where civilizations might be located. In Sarah Parcak and her team found about 1,000 tombs, 17 potentially buried pyramids, and about 3,000 settlementts. (Paragraph 3, Source 3). Some researchers faced a problem with this technology. It does not work in thick canopy areas, such as the rainforest. To find a way around this problem, professors from the University of Central Florida (in search of a Mayan city), attached a LIDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) unit, to a airplane. This modern technology discovered ancient structures and developments in four days. That is equal to the amount of information they could have collected normally in 25
