Destry Lett My past leadership position was being a squad leader my freshman year. when I was first leading my squad something I always made sure to do then and still do is to always set the example. I believe that this would set my squad to a higher standard than the people around us making them act better. I expected this to be enough for them to act with integrity with the things they do, but while a good platform this alone is not enough. yet I continued with my approach, I feel as if I could have changed my approach for the better at anytime but i chose to continue seeing it might work. I also believe that the few times i did do it was not worth the time it took, so if i were in a future situation as a squad leader i think would not change anything. something i had to quite a bit as a squad leader was resolve conflicts. when i would first hear about a conflict between my squad I would listen to make sure i was informed about what was going on then i would react. but Instead of being direct I would go around the problem and be slow to think of a solution. in the future i think I would make sure to be quicker and be direct. so if someone was saying stuff about someone instead of addressing the whole group i would just pull that person to the side and tell him to stop. For inspect and evaluate I would always inspect my squad to make sure they were the best they could be. I would also make sure if i saw something wrong with how my people were performing i would formulate a plan. then then watch very closely to see how it worked. I thinks i did quite well here and if i were to do something like this in the the future i would make sure to not let some things pass like i did as a squad
