It’s a bird! It’s a plane! No it’s Superman! The most beloved superhero of his time still continues to inspire children and adults all over the world. The most recognized superhero in pop culture, Superman has been elevated to mythic folk hero status. Superman first made his appearance back in June of 1938 with Action #1 Comics. What makes him great is his story of how he became the man in the red cape that we all know today and love. A universal icon, Superman means different things to the many diverse people he inspires . This exhibit is going to show the evolution of Superman how he first started on the paper of comic books to making it to the big screen for multiple movie franchises. Follow the stories of Superman and how he keeps on fighting for truth and justice. The exhibit will have interactive displays where children and adults can feel the speed of how Superman would change into his super suit. So pick up a pamphlet and start on the journey of how Clark Kent became the man with the blue suit and red cape. However, for the fellow audience we have to go back to when creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster first met in Cleveland, Ohio and started the life of Clark Kent when he first arrived to earth. For the generation that is growing up today with Superman they don’t know how he got his start with this legacy. That’s when a thought popped into my head, “Let’s have the kids and the adults who are still a child at heart follow the incredible journey of Superman from his first appearance in 1938 to the current movie of Superman that was released in 2013.” Because the exhibition takes into mind all age groups there will be fun coloring activities for the kids but also helpful information for the
