In at least 25 states a form of lice called, “super Lice” have been found crawling through children’s hair. They call it super lice because of its resistance to lice treatments. There are an estimated six to twelve million lice infections each year, the CDC says. It is most common for kids from ages three to eleven years of age in the United States. Lice latch on to the roots of single strands of hair and hold on very tightly. The most effective way to get them out is by hand picking the nits or fine-tooth combs. Special treatment shampoos are also helpful to stop future reproduction and the halt nits from hatching.
