This video demonstrates Obama’s willpower to turn the economy around and achieve all goals he had during his presidency. As soon as President Obama won the election, viewers saw that he now has the weight of the world rested on his shoulders. Obama got elected as president in an economy where 650,000 jobs were lost just in the past three months, unemployment was nearly 7% and climbing, and the stock market was down more than 6,000 points. On the night that President Obama got inaugurated, a group of republicans met in secret to develop plans on how to take on the new president. The group included Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy, Paul Ryan, Jim DeMint, Jon Kyl, Tom Coburn, and the event organizer, Frank Luntz. Since Obama was elected, the republicans felt powerless since every republican had lost their Senate seats, House seats and feared they would never come back from this, not for an election or two, but maybe a generation or two. In his first week as president, he had two goals, turn the economy around and do that by working together with the republicans. President Obama had put together a $800 billion package that was designed to “kick-start” the economy, and purposely made it more appealing to the Republicans.
