Summary: Direct Democracy In Ohio
428 Words2 Pages
The issues on the Ohio’s 2015 ballot consist of the legalization of marijuana whether we should change to a direct democracy and if redistricting should be allowed. All three of these pertain to the greater good of Ohio and the greater good of the citizens. These are the three issues at hand.
The first issue is direct democracy “usually refers to citizens making policy and law decisions in person, without going through representatives and legislatures.” This is an issue because in a direct democracy everybody has a say and in a representative democracy people are elected to cast the votes with the ideas of the people in mind. Voters should remember that it would be what the majority of people want not what is in the best interest for everybody.
