“Sudika-mbambi” is a rite of passage story, in which the boy has fantastic characteristics. The boy’s house has been destroyed by cannibalistic ogres and he is on a quest for revenge. Along the way, he encounters the kipalende, who are supernatural characters, each with special skills. At first, the kipalende seem to be allies of the boy, and help him to fight the many-headed cannibals. Each time they go to fight the cannibals, one kipalende is left at home. This remaining kipalende encounters an old woman who offers her granddaughter if they are able to beat her in a fight. Each time, the old woman wins and pins the kipalende under a stone. Finally, Sudika-mbambi encounters the women, who he defeats, and consequently allows him to win
