This essay is cause and effect because the author does not try to compare two different things, or try to argue or persuade a point. The tone of this essay is humorous because many times the author uses humor throughout the essay to entertain the reader. One example, is when in the essay the author tells a joke about, “What’s the difference between a truckload of bowling balls and a truckload of dead babies?”...You can’t unload a truckload of bowling balls with a pitchfork”, which he goes on to say that the joke may surprise a laugh or grin from us even though it is a disgusting joke. Another example is when the author makes fun of Leonard Nimoy's writing, and makes the humorous comment that “I don’t dare call it poetry”.
