I am choosing to read Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison through a feminist/ gender lens. This lens interests me because I am female and I believe in the cultural equality of gender. I like seeing things with a powerful mindset, and by picking a feminist lens I will be doing just that. I have experienced topics in the past with a feminist lens including objectification of female athletes and eating disorders in females. While looking at those topics in a feminist lens it really made me rethink the way society portrays gender. I also read the Bluest Eye last year also by Toni Morrison in a feminist lens.
