The 1960s in America was a time of immense societal modification. Peoples typical attitudes began to change in radical ways. The ongoing change in sexual ideologies and behaviours, often referred to as the sexual revolution was a movement in action. For centuries there were specific views on the roles of a women and man. Women were described in relation to motherhood or by role as a spouse. Placing a social stigma of women being passive, submissive and weak.
