Leadership is often perceived as something bigger than life; and only gifted to few fortunate individuals. We read about them in books, make movies about their life and think of them as someone very different than us. In his short talk, Drew Dudley challenges that idea by saying that leaders are not born, rather leaders are made from within ourselves. All of us can make an impact on another person’s life and take a step towards leadership. Simon Sinek reaffirms that by mentioning that leadership title doesn’t always make a true leader. People automatically follows the leader on whose belief they also believe in. So it’s important to convey the vision and belief, what he calls the “why”, rather than expressing the plan – the “what”.
