Shirley Temple was a Star who could do it all: act, sing, and dance. She got her start in movies at the age of three and soon progressed to Super Stardom by the time she turned five. Shirley Temple was easily the most popular and famous child star of all time. Here is a little peek into Shirley’s early years. Shirley Temple was born to a banker and housewife on April 23, 1928 in Santa Monica California. Shirley Temple had two brothers named George Francis Jr. and John Stanley. Shirley Temple was bright, bouncy, and cheerful. Her Mother capitalized on the toddler’s natural flair for dancing by enrolling her in dance classes at the age of 3½. Her Father became her agent and financial adviser. Shirley made her acting debut in Baby Burlesque series of short films using preschoolers for actors. They had to children and were married for over 50 years. She embarked on a new career as a foreign diplomat. From 1969 to 1970 she served as ambassador to Ghana in 1974. She was the chief of protocol of the United States until 1977. In 1998, Temple’s life time accomplishments were celebrated at the Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.
