I have chosen the constellation of Scorpio (or Scorpius, to some people). I've chosen this constellation as I have always found a fascination with astrology, and I happen to find the animal of the scorpion FASCINATING! Scorpio is one of the brightest constellations in the sky, and has gone by many names from many different cultures.
Additionally, the original creation myth for Scorpio originated from Greek mythology. One theory includes Orion, a hunter, who allegedly wanted to kill off all wild animals. However, the Earth goddess, Gaia, was upset by his intentions. Therefore, she sent a giant scorpion to go after Orion. Many scorpions had accepted this sad fate, but some were still angered. This included Scorpio, a small, scrawny scorpion who had a plan. He would show the human (Muggle) population how good some scorpions could be. He thought that surely, after they saw how good scorpions were, they would leave them be.
Scorpio tried in vain for many months to prove that not all scorpions were bad. Everyone thought that even when he killed criminals and protected children, he was doing it with a catch- perhaps a bite out of a leg, or a nibble on an ear. Scorpio had gotten weary and tired, and was ready to give up and resign himself to the fact that no scorpion would ever be in the good graces of man. But, one day, there was an opportunity. And opportunity to show humans how good he could be- and this time they would surely have to see.
There had been an evil goddess, Gaia, who had come to terrorize the world. No mortal weapons could stop her. But Scorpio had an idea.
