Samuel Finley Breese Morse was born April 27, 1791 in Charlestown, Mass, U.S.A. His father, Jedidiah Morse, was both a geographer and a Congregational Clergyman. His parents decided to send Morse to Yale Collage, now known as Yale University, where he became interested electricity but his primary focus was with art.
