The Inventor, the Painter, and the Telegraph Pioneer The Revolution of communication would all be possible thanks to one painter. Samuel Finley Breese Morse was born April 27, 1791 in Charlestown, Mass, U.S.A. His father, Jedidiah Morse, was both a geographer and a Congregational Clergyman. His parents decided to send Morse to Yale Collage, now known as Yale University, where he became interested electricity but his primary focus was with art. It wasn’t until 1832 when Morse returned from Europe that he devoted more of his time to his new invention. Samuel Morse’s new invention was one that would transform the world.
