From the late 18th century till the 1850s, Romanticism and Transcendentalism made an impact all around the world. Romanticism was an artistic, literary, and intellectual movement that originated in Europe toward the end of the 18th century and was at its peak around the 1800-1850s. Romanticism was a reaction to the Industrial Revolution and the French Revolution and was a revolt against the aristocratic social and political norms of the Age of Enlightenment and the scientific rationalization of nature. Transcendentalism was a religious, philosophical era that originated in the 1830s. Transcendentalism was a reaction against the 18th century rationalism, The Firsts Opium War, and the French Revolution. To start off, Romanticism was created strongly in visual arts, music, and literature, but had most impact on historical writing, learning, and natural sciences. Imagination and emotion were key ideas for Romanticism. Romanticism had a significant long-term effect on the growth of nationalism and created a cultural and literary movement. Romanticism expressed a method for finding someone’s true self rather than agreeing with society beliefs; it was thought of as rebellion at the time. Transcendentalists were against all social orders in the logic of them thinking for themselves. Transcendentalism gave society a sense of self-reliance opposed to accepting what the rest of the society
