[The Romans Road intellectual method] The Romans Road approach is an intellectual evangelistic approach where one puts a plan of salvation using verses from the book of Romans. This approach uses these verses to show who needs salvation, why they need it, how God provides salvation, how one answers to God’s salvation, and lastly how one responds to this. First the scripture (Romans 3:10-12, 23) is used to show who needs God’s salvation “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” After this step we show the penalty of our sin which is death “For all the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” (Romans 6:23). Our hope as man comes from Jesus’s payment for our sins by his death “but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8). The next step that is laid out is how one accepts this salvation. “Because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved” (Romans 10: 9-10,13). The idea of this method is one where Christian’s reach people by showing them love, compassion, and service. In addition to these actions, there is also a mentality that if the service is done with intentions it will lead people to Christ because the way you are carrying yourself is said to be contagious. This method gains a lot of what it is from Matthew 25 in which Jesus tells His disciples to feed the hungry, provide clothing along with shelter to the homeless, give the sick the care they need, and overwhelming care for others in anything that they do.
