Local Studies – Recreational Activities There are similarities and differences in the kinds of sports and recreational activities in Shanghai and Guizhou. Both of them are cities in China, but they have different culture and lifestyle. In Shanghai, there are plenty of local sports and recreational facilities that enrich the lifestyles. As the city is developing, more sources are extracted and more buildings are built, so there are more international sports starting to be popular in some modern places. The bund area, People’s Square and Yu Garden area three of the most populous scenery spots that attract and guide the tourists in Shanghai. The government impacts our daily life by creating laws to ensure citizens follow rules, which can make sure their safety. The government has influence on the land use, property taxes, laws, education, health care and the living conditions within the neighborhoods. It also establishes and maintains numerous public services, and plans for the building of the recreational activities in different areas.
