Many who love and watch the game of basketball either love or hate this man; however, he is highly respected and has been given accolades that most players only dream of having. If you haven’t already guessed by now, I am referring to LeBron James. He is truly one of the paragons of basketball. Like many athletes, he has endured a plethora of loss, doubt, and adversity, but none of that has hindered him from being considered as one of the best players in the history of the sport. I’ll be taking you through the ups and downs of LeBron’s career from his humble beginnings to his prideful losses.

Unfortunately for them, their season was over when the Dallas Mavericks defeated them in six games. LeBron was regarded as “a choke” after that series due to his lack of production in the fourth quarter. This setback did not stop LeBron from focusing on his goal: to win an NBA championship. James continued to improve his game by playing more offense in the post. In the lockout-shortened season, LeBron and the Heat were ready to silence the critics. LeBron won his third MVP that season averaging 27.1 points, 7.9 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 1.9 steals per game. The New York Times called LeBron’s Game 6 of the Conference Finals a “career-defining performance”; facing elimination, LeBron scored 45 point on 73 percent shooting. The Heat went on to win the series and defeated the Oklahoma City Thunder in the 2012 NBA Finals in only five games. LeBron was unanimously voted Finals MVP as he averaged 28.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game. LeBron James had finally earned the championship he strived so hard for. James and the Heat headed into the 2012-2013 NBA season with tons of momentum considering they were the reigning champions and kept the same core of LeBron, Wade, and Bosh. Despite LeBron’s historic stat line of 35.8 points, 13.3 rebounds, and 8.8 assists per game, the Cavaliers were defeated in six games by the Golden State Warriors in the 2015 NBA Finals.
