Working in a psychiatric setting is a challenge for the direct care employees (Sellers et al., 2012). Psychiatric nurses are at high risk for major exhaustion (Kowalski et al., 2010). It is important that psychiatric employee work related conditions are examined. Employees working in these environments experienced issues with burnout when they lacked emotional support; they consequently, struggled to manage difficult situations, and risked the possibility for injury (Zarea, Nikbakht-Nasrabadi, Abbaszadeh, & Mohammadpour, 2012).
