The general argument made by author Eric Barker in his work, “How to be loved by Everyone: 6 Powerful Secrets”, is that every person wants to be loved and respected, and there is no better way to be loved than to listen. More specifically, Barker argues that listening is key to be being loved. He writes, “That really comes down to one skill: listening.” (Barker 1). In this passage, Barker is suggesting that good listening is all that you need to be loved. In conclusion, Barker’s belief is that his 6 tips, as well as good listening, make be loved by everyone.
