Personal Narrative: The Most Involved In A Softball Team

My sister Morgan and I had never been extremely close. We got along and loved each other, but we had never really bonded. One of us was always becoming irritated with the other, and didn’t talk all that often. We were never ones to share our feelings or have sleepovers together. We hung out with each other at events where we didn’t have anyone else to hang out with, but if able to go our separate ways, we would. The only time spent together was at family events, or if it was just the two of us. At home, we would go to our own rooms and barely communicated. None of this was because we didn’t like each other, it was just that there wasn’t much in common between the two of us. But that all changed during a softball game. It all started when she played with my 18U softball team about a year-and-a-half ago. Both of our teams were playing in Ankeny at a spring showcase tournament, and I remember it had been so cold that day. However, the older we got, the less and less they occurred. Both of us agreed on having a movie night, and The Princess Diaries ended up being the winner out of our DVD selection. Morgan and I pigged-out on popcorn and junk food while we talked the whole time. I learned about her friends, and who she was the closest with. I found out her fears, and why she hated middle school. She learned about my favorite subjects and I gave her a list of classes she should take. I told her why the 4th of July and Halloween were my favorite holidays, and she told me why they weren’t at the top of her list.
