A few summers ago, I went camping. As a graduation trip, I traveled to Pennsylvania with classmates on a three day-two night excursion. It was a memorable experience that taught me quite a bit about both the world beyond New York City, and myself. To get to the campgrounds, my classmates and I had to take a three-hour long bus ride. Within the first two hours, signs of urbanization gradually faded as commercial buildings turned into small houses, which later became replaced with nothing but large expanses of woodland. After we arrived, I immediately saw that the bus ride was a prelude to what camp would be like. Everywhere I looked, I saw only trees and rurality, without any signs of technology or modernization.
